CONTORTION is a hard hitting and evocative metal band combining elements of thrash, metalcore, death, and djent, creating a cutting new sound for American Metal. 

The band has performed extensively, giving them a commanding presence with their fans as well as quickly gaining the attention of new audiences at every show. CONTORTION puts on an intense and unforgiving live performance ensuring the audience gets the full effect from their lyrically driven songs backed by crushing riffs, infectious melodic passages and powerful bottom end. Every hit flows through the crowd.

CONTORTION released their debut hit EP "Live Grenade" in January 2013 featuring the hit track "Dreaming Alone".  The album received positive praise fueling the fire Contortion was only beginning to ignite. With the high energy upward growth, they would soon be Southern Californias metal pride.

As CONTORTION got back into writing for their sophomore release, they crossed paths with Darian Rundall (Suicidal Tendencies, Dokken, Pennywise) and decided to team up in Los Angeles and record their next album together which would be titled "False Flag Paradigm".

CONTORTION self-released "False Flag Paradigm" in 2014 and received tremendous feedback from fans and press alike. Zero Tolerance Mag (UK) stated, "Contortion plays their brand of aggressive, brutish metal with a competency and tightness you would expect."  The band continued to hit the road and support the self-release throughout numerous venues including 2015's MAYHEM FEST and KNOTFEST. 

CONTORTION has been featured on So Cal's KCAL 96.7 and KCXX 103.9, and countless internet radio stations. 
 
In late 2015, CONTORTION partnered up with New York based company EXTREME MANAGEMENT GROUP, finding a home on a roster with reputable acts such as SUFFOCATION, CATTLE DECAPITATION, ORIGIN, CRYPTOPSY, DECREPIT BIRTH, THREAT SIGNAL, RINGS OF SATURN and many more. This strengthened CONTORTION's foothold in the genre and gave them an edge to continue pushing their music globally.

By 2020 the band found its new sound up and began recording a diabolical auditory assault that is creative, heavy, intense and in a category of its own. With a diverse cast of characters composing the new material Contortion twists into an unexpected realm of sonic innovation and heavy heart pounding rhythms to bring its most unique and heaviest material yet. "The Common Thread" is now complete, and was released in 2024.

Since 2022, and with the release of "The Common Thread" CONTORTION has set out on a number of tours. Spanning coast to coast in the US, covering a number of tours in the UK, and now all over Europe, they have been building on their audience all over the globe. With every new achievement, they continue to make strides in changing the name of metal as a genre and musical art form.
